There are no special requirements for training as a naturopath.

• Basics of naturopathy:The training covers a broad spectrum of naturopathic approaches, including phytotherapy (herbal medicine), homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Ayurveda, Bach flower therapy and other alternative therapy methods.
• Anatomy and Physiology:In order to develop a sound understanding of human anatomy and physiology, topics such as the structure and functions of the human body, organ systems and causes of disease are covered.
• Pathology and disease theory:The training provides knowledge about various diseases, their causes, symptoms and treatment options, from both a conventional medical and a naturopathic perspective.
• Diagnostic procedures:Naturopaths learn to use various diagnostic techniques, including medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests and alternative diagnostic methods such as iris diagnosis, pulse diagnosis or acupuncture diagnosis.
• Therapeutic techniques and treatment methods:The training includes practical applications of various therapy methods such as massage techniques, acupuncture, aromatherapy, nutritional advice, detoxification treatments, phytotherapy and other naturopathic procedures.
• Legal and ethical aspects:Alternative practitioners learn about the legal framework of their profession, including statutory provisions, professional ethics and professional duties, in order to carry out their work responsibly and legally.
• Practical experience and supervision:The training usually includes practical exercises, case studies, internships and supervision to prepare prospective alternative practitioners for their professional activities and give them the opportunity to develop and deepen their skills under supervision.
